Longusto – All Enter The Call Centre

All Enter the Call Centre - Too Big to Play

You might’ve noticed that my posts have been lacking recently. That is for two reasons. 1) hip hop, when it is bad, is the worst music ever. Having now worked in music both on this blog and as a career for a few years, I can say that 95% of the hip hop genre is just atrocious because thanks to technology and music-making software, anyone can be a rapper with absolutely no musical training. Consequently, I’ve had a dry spell on finding good, catchy hip hop. 2) I’ve been listening to a lot of other genres lately, particularly ska, because of said dry spell. And what do you know, I stumble on a song that uses a reggae/ska sample and viola! two of my favorite realms of music collide! Longusto made a fun anthem for those working 9-5 slave-labor, corporate jobs. Mix that with a laid-back beat and you have yourself a interesting duality: maintaining a laid-back approach in the modern work-a-day, fast-paced first-world. AND A NEW RECORD HAS BEEN SET FOR HYPHEN USE IN ONE SENTENCE!

I prefer the term “wage slave”

Yes! This is dreadful. When it comes to call centers, slave-labor is the perfect description. Let’s hope I never have to go back!

Dude. I love you. Thank you for allowing me to be lazy and just feast on your hip-hop harvest. So do you have a SKA/reggae blog as well?

My life goal is to actually make everyone I come in contact with, lazy because then it is way easier for me to take over the world. As for the Ska/reggae blog, I sure wish I had one but I’m afraid I stopped keeping up with what was hot many moons ago. The blog would end up being a catalog of songs from the 70′s until 2005 probably.
