Mestizo & Mike Gao – Pick Up 52′s

So after my post this morning of Chinese Man, I was thoroughly intrigued by the creative use of old swing samples. Intrigued doesn’t actually convey my emotion: I am really blown away by this genre! So blown away that I am in the process of searching for as much as I can but it seems that while electro-swing (what Chinese Man might be dubbed as) is gaining popularity, “swing-hop” hasn’t made much of a splash. Electro-swing, from what I can tell, is similar to a hip hop beat without the rapping and maybe more electronic. Swing-hop would then be an electro-swing beat with rapping laid over, kind of like this track. I didn’t know this at the time when I posted this track, but apparently Movits! could be arguably considered swing-hop. Either way, I’m craving more. Ridiculous craving. IF anyone knows of any more, I need to hear it.
